Privacy policy

While you design

Your design, including the names and dates you add, is saved in your own browser on this device. It is not sent to us while you work.

It reaches our server only when you open the print file (PDF) to check it, which we create and do not keep, or when you go to checkout, when we store the approved design so we can print exactly that.

Photos are different: when you add a photo, it is uploaded so we can show and print it. Before it leaves your device, your browser resizes it and removes its camera information, such as location and device.

If you save your design with your email

When you choose “Save it and finish later”, we store your design on our server with your email address and email you a link to it. We send that email because you asked for it.

Only if you also tick the box do we send reminders about your design (at most two, a day and four days later, and none once you have ordered) and occasional tips and offers. Every such email has a link to stop them, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Your email address and consent are kept in our shop system (Shopify); the emails are sent through Google Workspace.

A saved design is deleted with the other designs, 180 days after it was saved.

Other people’s names and dates

The birthdays and anniversaries you add usually belong to other people. We use them only to print your order. Please add only details you are comfortable having printed, and nothing sensitive.

When you order

Checkout is run by Shopify. Shopify collects your name, email, shipping address, phone number and payment details. We never see your full card details.

To print and deliver your order, we share your name, shipping address, phone number and email with the print partner that makes your product: Lulu Press, Inc. for planners, which prints in the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, and Gelato (Gelato AS, Norway) for wall calendars, which prints at a partner close to you. The printed files contain your design.

The story book

Lulu Press, Inc. (United States) prints and ships the story book. For it we share your name, shipping address, phone number and email, and the print files with the book’s words (the names, the greeting and the questions you write in it), with Lulu, which processes them in the United States and other countries; where data leaves the EU or UK, Lulu uses approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Write only names and words that the people in the book would be happy to see printed.

The five-year journal

Lulu Press, Inc. (United States) prints and ships the five-year journal. For it we share your name, shipping address, phone number and email, and the print files with your design, with Lulu, which processes them in the United States and other countries; where data leaves the EU or UK, Lulu uses approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Where your data is stored

Our website and order records run on servers at Hetzner in Finland (EU). Designs, photos and print files are stored with Cloudflare R2. Shopify, Lulu and Gelato process data in the United States and other countries; where data leaves the EU or UK, they use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Photos, approved designs and print files are deleted 180 days after they were uploaded or ordered. That leaves time to reprint if something went wrong in printing or delivery.

Order and payment records are kept as long as bookkeeping law requires, which in Sweden is seven years.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help people and where they get stuck. It sets cookies and records pages visited, the device and browser type and an approximate location; IP addresses are not stored. Data is kept for 14 months.

We use Google Ads to measure our ads on Google: when someone who clicked an ad goes to checkout, saves a design or buys, Google is told, so we can see which ads work. Google receives that event, the ad click, your IP address and browser details; at checkout, your email address is sent to Google hashed (scrambled) so a purchase can be matched to the ad. Names and dates in your design are never sent.

We use the Meta pixel to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram: it tells Meta that someone who saw an ad visited our site, opened the editor or started checkout, so we can see which ads work and show them to similar people. Meta receives that event, your IP address and browser details, and can link them to a Meta account under Meta’s own privacy policy. Names and dates in your design are never sent.

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how our pages are used: it records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as session replays and heatmaps, so we can fix what confuses people. Everything you type, including names, dates and email addresses, is masked and never recorded. Clarity is provided by Microsoft Corporation, sets cookies (_clck, _clsk) and keeps recordings for 30 days. It runs on the same terms as Google Analytics.

Visitors in Europe are asked first, and neither tool is used unless they allow it. Elsewhere both are on, and you can switch them off at any time with the choice below; in the United States, that is how you opt out of this sharing for advertising.

Your browser’s local storage keeps your draft on your device. Shopify’s checkout sets its own cookies to run the checkout; see Shopify’s privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to hello@daysmarked.com. We reply within one month.

If you are in the EU or UK and unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your data protection authority, or to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (imy.se).
