What we collect

The names and dates you put in your design, and any photos you add.

When you order: your name, email, delivery address and phone number. Payment details are collected by Shopify; we never see your full card number.

If you save your design: your email address, and whether you agreed to reminders and offers.

When you use the site: which pages you visit and basic details about your device and browser (see “Cookies and tracking”).

Using the site without telling us who you are

You don’t need an account to design a diary or calendar, and you don’t need to give us your name until you order. We need your name, address and email to print and deliver an order.

While you design

Your design, including the names and dates you add, is saved in your own browser on this device. It is not sent to us while you work.

It reaches our server only when you open the print file (PDF) to check it, which we create and do not keep, or when you go to checkout, when we store the approved design so we can print exactly that.

Photos are different: when you add a photo, it is uploaded so we can show and print it. Before it leaves your device, your browser makes it smaller and removes its camera information, such as location and device.

Other people’s names and dates

The birthdays and anniversaries you add usually belong to other people. We use them only to print your order. Please add only details you are comfortable having printed, and nothing sensitive.

Why we use it

To print and deliver your order, to answer your questions, to fix a misprint or a lost parcel, and to keep the records the law requires.

To see which pages help people and which ads work (see “Cookies and tracking”).

To email you about your design, and occasional tips and offers, only if you asked for that (see “Emails”).

We do not use your information for anything else, and we do not sell it.

Emails

When you choose “Save it and finish later”, we email you a link to your design, because you asked for it.

We send reminders about your design (at most two, a day and four days later, and none once you have ordered) and occasional tips and offers only if you tick the box to agree. Buying from us does not sign you up. At checkout, the box for news and offers is not ticked for you.

Every marketing email says who it is from and has a link to unsubscribe. You can also write to us. We stop within five business days, and usually at once.

Your email address and consent are kept in our shop system (Shopify); the emails are sent through Google Workspace.

Who we share it with

Shopify runs our checkout and takes payment.

To print and deliver your order, we share your name, delivery address, phone number and email, and the print file with your design, with the print partner that makes it: Lulu Press, Inc. for diaries and Gelato (Gelato AS, Norway) for wall calendars. Both print Australian orders in Australia and hand them to a carrier for delivery.

Our website and order records run on servers at Hetzner in Finland. Designs, photos and print files are stored with Cloudflare R2.

Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta receive the information described under “Cookies and tracking”.

Information sent overseas

Days Marked is run from Sweden, so your information is handled outside Australia. It is likely to be held or processed in Sweden and Finland (European Union), Norway, the United States and Australia, and, through our service providers, in other countries where they operate. We choose providers who protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles, and in Europe we are also bound by the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

How long we keep it

Photos, approved designs and print files are deleted 180 days after they were uploaded or ordered. That leaves time to reprint if something went wrong in printing or delivery. A saved design is deleted 180 days after it was saved.

Order and payment records are kept as long as bookkeeping law requires, which in Sweden is seven years.

Keeping it safe

Our site uses encrypted connections, and only the people who run Days Marked can see order data. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and explain what you can do.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help people and where they get stuck. It sets cookies and records pages visited, the device and browser type and an approximate location; IP addresses are not stored. Data is kept for 14 months.

We use Google Ads to measure our ads on Google: when someone who clicked an ad goes to checkout, saves a design or buys, Google is told, so we can see which ads work. Google receives that event, the ad click, your IP address and browser details; at checkout, your email address is sent to Google hashed (scrambled) so a purchase can be matched to the ad. Names and dates in your design are never sent.

We use the Meta pixel to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram: it tells Meta that someone who saw an ad visited our site, opened the editor or started checkout, so we can see which ads work and show them to similar people. Meta receives that event, your IP address and browser details, and can link them to a Meta account under Meta’s own privacy policy. Names and dates in your design are never sent.

You can switch Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel off at any time with the choice below.

Your browser’s local storage keeps your draft on your device. Shopify’s checkout sets its own cookies to run the checkout; see Shopify’s privacy policy.

Seeing and correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to hello@daysmarked.com. We reply within 30 days, and it costs nothing.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992).
